Hellenic DPA investigation of AI application and spyware

The Hellenic Data Protection Authority announces that it has initiated an ex officio investigation into the legality, under the General Data Protection Regulation, of the DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence application, which is available in Greece.

It is also announced that the Authority is investigating the breach of personal data of WhatsApp users by spyware, following a notification submitted by the company, given that the affected natural persons include subscribers in Greece.
